"We Never Walk Alone"
November 2012

Maybe we would meet in a little coffee shop downtown as we escaped the rain.

We'd get to talking and sit by a window so we could watch the people walk by with their colorful umbrellas. We would end up talking well past noon, through the afternoon and deep into the evening. I would stay late into the night, listening as you told me your story. I hope it would be almost as if we'd been friends forever, yet we'd be unacquainted enough that you'd feel comfortable telling me things you'd never told anyone before- little things that no one ever cared to know.
At the end of the night we'd go our separate ways.  We would probably never meet again, but I'd like to  think that one day, that day when everything tells you that life isn't worth it, that you aren't worth it, that's when you would remember that some girl at a cafe bought you tea, sat down and just listened. Someone listened to the story you hadn't even told yourself, and by doing so reminded you that you are greatly loved and so worth it.
In this world where time threatens to drown everything in it's path,
Hope comes in knowing that you never walk alone.
